The Internet: 1983-2017.

Republicans in the U.S. Federal Communications Commission voted on December 14th for "Internet freedom," by which they mean freedom for the largest telecommunications corporations to do whatever the hell they want.

This deregulation will have far reaching effects on pricing, and will allow the largest companies like Verizon, Comcast, and AT&T, to dictate which media products are delivered over fast pipes and which are relegated to a slow lane. It's a violation of the basic egalitarian qualities of the packet network formerly known as the Internet. And it puts the U.S. on par with other authoritarian countries that have robbed the Internet of its best qualities. It's an unacceptable turn of events. We must demand from elected officials that this stupid and unnecessary action be reversed.
