The Collabyrinth software lets website authors design the icon that appears on the desktop in these circumstances. If an ICO is associated with a web page as in the HTML coding example, that icon will appear on the desktop after a drag-and-drop operation is initiated by a person visiting the site. On the desktop the ICO file, slightly modified (Fig. 3), serves as a shortcut to a web page.
