i'm reading "empire". antonio negri is listed as an inmate on the book jacket. i wonder if this will be explained in the book. in a way i'm living in the panopticon, too -- although i'm not behind bars. there are dozens of neighbors that have a good view of where i live. i haven't gotten around to making a curtain rod. of course, i'm not all that shy. a former streaker, in fact. everyone else around here seems to have a penchant for night-time enclosure. the windows all (well, except mine) have roll down blinds. in new york, people don't seem to care much. although i have a friend there who is obsessive about keeping track of which neighbors are coming and going, and when. anyway, in the mean time, i'm just trying not to give people a lot of clear views of my blinding nakedness.
