Rising Seas Threaten Pacific Island Nations
People have lived in Tuvalu for 2,000 years, but some inhabitants of the island nation are now beginning to leave, fearing that global warming and rising seas will render their homes uninhabitable. As they emigrate to New Zealand, the Tuvaluans may be the vanguard of a new and growing category of displaced people: environmental refugees.
